Step One: Receive a couple of nice green tomatoes in your CSA bag. (That's green as in unripe, not a green tomato variety).
Step Two: Peruse the Web for recipes that don't include the word "fried" before the words "green tomatoes."
Step Three: Make this recipe for a Green Tomato and Zucchini Gratin and enjoy the accolades of your family. Or the accolades of my family. We'll be over at 6.

OK! I'll try it--I have really had NO ideas for the green tomatoes.
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, we both made Indian food with some of our CSA materials last week. My choice for the kale: Saag. It was fabulous-- a lot better than another batch of soup!
Since I had only the two tomatoes, I made a half-batch of the gratin, and it was just the right amount for us. (The feta and the crumbs made the dish, but the veggies were good, too.) I hope you like it.
ReplyDeleteI've never made Saag, but that's a good idea if we get more kale or chard.
